Izvorul Muntelui Dam (Bicaz Dam)
The concrete dam, 127 m high with a 435 m crest, was completed in 1960 and created Izvorul Muntelui Lake (1.23 billion m³).
The Bicaz–Stejaru scheme, first conceived by engineer Dimitrie Leonida in the early 20th century, is regarded as the starting point of Romanian hydropower. Water flows through a headrace tunnel to the 'Dimitrie Leonida' power plant at Stejaru.
