Vasile Găman House Museum, Lunca
The private museum of woodcarver Vasile Găman (b. 1936), a member of Romania's Academy of Traditional Arts, opened in 1979 in his family's traditional house in Lunca village.
Its roughly 3,000 items include old farm tools, manuscripts, medals, icons on wood, folk costumes, masks and pottery. The carved gate – where the craftsman says he 'wrote the nation's history with the chisel' – bears the faces of Burebista, Decebalus, Trajan, Stephen the Great, Dragoș Vodă and Michael the Brave.
