The CMNN's contemporary art galleries occupy the former 'Alfa' Gallery space, taken over by the museum complex in the early 1990s and inaugurated under the current name in May 1993. A new solo or group show (painting, graphics, sculpture, textiles, mosaic) opens roughly every two weeks, each with a vernissage. The galleries also host the 'Lascăr Vorel' National Fine Arts Biennial. Admission is free.
