Pângărați Monastery
The monastery dedicated to St Demetrius was founded by Prince Alexandru Lăpușneanu in 1560. Beneath the church is a former hiding chamber converted into a low vaulted chapel with narthex, nave and altar.
The community currently numbers about 36 monks.
