Aristide Caradja House, Grumăzești
The house where entomologist Prince Aristide Caradja (1861–1955), honorary member of the Romanian Academy, lived and worked stands in the centre of Grumăzești within a small arboretum of centuries-old oaks, ash, hornbeam, chestnut and lime trees.
Here he assembled his famous Lepidoptera collection, donated in 1944 to the 'Grigore Antipa' Museum in Bucharest. The single-storey manor with a wide terrace is a listed monument (NT-IV-m-B-10762). The estate has since returned to the heirs.
