History Museum Bicaz
Founded on 1 November 1958 at the suggestion of Romanian Academy researchers to document the past of the Bistrița Valley and the changes brought by the Bicaz hydropower scheme.
Since 1961 it has occupied the former 'Ion Kalinderu' village theatre, an early-20th-century listed building. Its exhibition covered Palaeolithic (Bistricioara-Lutărie, Bofu Mic), Cucuteni, Dacian (Bâtca Doamnei, Hangu) and medieval finds, plus the story of building the dam and the Stejaru power plant. The museum is currently closed for rehabilitation.
