Natural Sciences Museum Piatra Neamț
Founded on 1 September 1960 as a section of the Archaeological Museum and independent since 1965, the museum presents the geology, palaeontology, flora and fauna of Neamț.
Its collection of Oligocene fossil fish (33.7–23.8 million years) from the Pietricica and Cozla mountains is the most important of its kind in Romania, with 60 specimens classified as national treasure. Dioramas made only from natural materials depict ecosystems of the Șugău Gorge and Ceahlău National Park. The museum is currently closed for consolidation and extension works due to finish in 2029.
