Baal Shem Tov Wooden Synagogue (Jewish Community Museum)
The Baal Shem Tov wooden synagogue dates from 1766 and is considered the oldest in Romania; it is a listed monument (NT-II-m-B-10563).
It is described as the only wooden synagogue in Eastern Europe with intact architecture and uninterrupted worship. Inside is the Museum of the Piatra Neamț Jewish Community. It was rededicated in 2009 after restoration funded by Romania's Ministry of Culture and the World Monuments Fund.
