Short descriptionThe Art Museum from Roman was open for the public in 1957 and in the beginning had only one painting to exhibit. The painting was “Stefan the Great” and it was realized in 1884 by Epaminondra Bucevschi at the request of Melchisedec Stefanescu. Initially the museum was located in the same building with the History Museum, but since 1970 it was moved in a building of its own which was built at the end of the XIX century – the building that hosts the museum is a national architecture monument.
