Cookies and local storage
Visit Neamț uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so it shows no consent banner. What is still stored, and why.

In short: visitors to Visit Neamț receive no cookies and no other tracking identifier. We have no analytics, ads, pixels or social buttons that load foreign scripts. That is why we do not show a consent banner: there is nothing we would ask your consent for.
Why no banner is needed
Law 506/2004 (which implements the ePrivacy directive in Romania) requires your consent only for storing or reading information on your device that is not strictly necessary for the service you asked for. What we use is strictly necessary or a setting you choose yourself, and nothing is sent to third parties for tracking.
What is stored on your device
- For visitors: nothing. Browsing the map, the places list, events and routes sets no cookies.
- Audio guide language (in museums with a guide): a local browser setting (localStorage), created only when you choose a language. It stays on your device and never reaches us.
- The Visit Neamț app (PWA) (the installable web app): the tickets you bought, your settings and language, saved locally (localStorage, IndexedDB) so the app works offline. They stay on your device. Clear them from the app's or the browser's settings.
- Museum staff: the ticket scanning console uses a session cookie (vn_ops_*, HttpOnly, 14 days) after the PIN is entered. It is strictly necessary and appears only for authorised staff.
- Content editors: the admin panel uses session and authentication cookies, strictly necessary, only after sign-in.
What we do NOT use
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity or other analytics or marketing services.
- Fonts loaded from Google: fonts are hosted on our own site, so we send no IP address to Google when text is displayed.
- Embedded third-party videos or maps that set cookies.
What contacts third parties
The map loads in your browser from OpenFreeMap, and "Directions" links open Google Maps after you press them. Neither uses cookies on our site, but their servers see your IP address. Details: Privacy policy.
If we add analytics or other services
We will first choose options with no cookies and no personal identifiers. If a service cannot work that way, it will not load before your consent, and the banner will have "Accept" and "Reject all" buttons at the same level, with the option to change your mind at any time. This page will be updated before any such change.
How to clear local data
In your browser settings: "Clear site data" for the website and for the app. On a phone, uninstalling the app also deletes locally saved tickets, so keep your order code.
