At Sihastria Monastery, near the cemetery there is a wooden church of great artistic and architectural value that impresses through the original way in which the craftsmen created the ornaments. The church of the cemetery was built at the initiative of Abbot Victorin Oanele.

In the beginning of the year 1988 the abbot ofSihastria Monasterydecided to move a church from Hlapesti village, Neamt County to Sihastria. The church dated from the XVIII century and being made out of wood was in poor conditions. That is why, in the end, the monks opted to build a new church that will be a copy of the old one. Between 1988 and 1999 near the cemetery from Sihastria Monastery the monks built this new church.

The religious icons are the original ones from the old church and the iconostasis was painted by Vartolomeu Florea. The church was sanctified at August 7 1999 with spiritual patrons “The Resurrection of Christ” and “ST Apostle Joan”. In this church the religious services are usually held for the departed monks that are buried in the cemetery.
