IMG_8029_resize
The equestrian centre named after national riding champion Colonel Virgil Bărbuceanu was established as a sports centre in 1986. With one of the country's best showjumping arenas, the equestrian centre has hosted numerous televised national and international competitions over the years, with commentary by the well-known sports commentator Cristian Țopescu.
The equestrian centre's stables currently house 19 Lipizzaner horses, some used for leisure riding or carriage rides, and 6 ponies that delight children aged between 3 and 12. Here you can enjoy leisure riding safely along routes established by the centre's staff towards Bâtca Doamnei, or up Cernegura Mountain towards Bahrin, take a carriage ride (or a sleigh ride), or, if you are a beginner, take riding lessons with the centre's instructors.
The riding school at the equestrian centre accepts children from the age of 7. A 30 min. lesson for children or adults costs 40 lei, with lessons held at set times: Wednesdays from 15°° to 19°°, and Saturdays and Sundays from 09°° to 14°°.
Leisure riding is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15°° to 19°°, and Sundays from 09°° to 14°°. The price for 30 min. is 40 lei for children and adults.
Leisure carriage rides (6 seats) follow this route: Tineretului Alley, Bâtca Doamnei, General Dăscălescu Street, Republicii Boulevard, Ștefan cel Mare Square, Mihai Eminescu Street, Traian Boulevard, Eroilor Street, Ștefan cel Mare Street, at a price of 10 lei/15 min. Carriages can also be hired for weddings or other events.
