“Lascăr Vorel” National Fine Arts Biennial – 12th edition
Lascar Vorel Biennial 2011
The “Lascăr Vorel” National Fine Arts Biennial reaches its 12th edition this year. The event is listed in the calendar of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and is a landmark event for artists from across the country.
This year’s exhibition will feature over 400 paintings, graphic works and sculptures by numerous artists who are members of the county branches of Uniunea Artiștilor Plastici.
On Thursday, 20 October 2011, at 18.00, the exhibition opening and awards ceremony will take place, with the “Grand Prize”, the main prizes in each category and other special prizes to be awarded. The jury will consist of three specialists: Valentin Ciucă – art critic, Nicoale Suciu – painter, and Constantin Catargiu – graphic artist.
The works will be selected and, depending on the space available, some will be displayed at the History Museum in Piatra-Neamț. Judging by the works displayed at previous editions of the event, this year’s exhibition is expected to offer visitors a true visual spectacle of form and colour.
At the end of the exhibition, each nominated artist will also receive a certificate.
