Opening of the Riding School in Piatra Neamț, April 2010
On Saturday, 17 April 2010, a special event took place starting at 10.00 at the “Virgil Barbuceanu” Equestrian Centre in Piatra Neamț: the opening of the riding school and the start of the equestrian competition season. The occasion also included a demonstration showjumping competition featuring riders and horses from riding schools in Piatra Neamț, Târgu Neamț, Bacau and Iasi.
The stars of the occasion were pupils from riding schools in the counties of Neamț, Bacau and Iasi, who came especially for the event. Their participation encouraged children to sign up for the sport. The event began with an introduction to the prominent figures who have supported the equestrian centre in Piatra Neamț and provided material assistance from its establishment to the present.
The eagerly awaited showjumping competition began with the 2 riders from Piatra Neamț. The horses at the event impressed the audience with their beauty and their skill in clearing the obstacles.
The event ended with a short folk music recital performed by pupils from schools in Piatra Neamț. The horses left a remarkable impression on those who attended, especially the children.
We share the organisers’ hope that as many pupils as possible will join the riding school in Piatra Neamț. The equestrian centre in Piatra Neamț is accredited by the International Equestrian Federation to host equestrian competitions such as the Show Jumping World Cup.
