Exhibition of paintings by artist Aurel Stanciu at the “Lascăr Vorel” Gallery in Piatra Neamț
On Friday, 4 May 2012, at 17:00, the “Lascăr Vorel” Art Gallery hosted the opening of “Ferestre”, an exhibition by Bacău painter Aurel Stanciu.
A member of the Bacău Branch of the Fine Artists’ Union, Aurel Stanciu studied at the Fine Arts High School in Cluj-Napoca and graduated from two university faculties. He first studied drawing at “Al.I. Cuza” University in Iași, then museology in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the “N. Grigorescu” Institute of Fine Arts in București.
Through the “Ferestre” exhibition, the painter joyfully offers us a journey through time, an escape into a space that is both expansive and compressed. Everyone is connected to memories rooted in a particular place or time. This exhibition is therefore a theory of painting in the clearest sense of the word. The artist presents viewers with remarkable works, deepening the meaning of the paintings themselves by stirring uplifting emotional and spiritual responses.
Conceived as a dialogue between the spiritual traditions of rural civilisation and the work of art, at a time when realism may seem exhausted, restrictive and limited, the “Ferestre” exhibition affirms how fresh, invigorating and authentic the painter’s unique means of expression can be. Art lovers will be able to admire the works exhibited by Aurel Stanciu at the “Lascăr Vorel” Art Gallery in Piatra Neamț until mid-May.
