Tare ca Piatra 2010
Eagerly awaited by young people, the Tare ca Piatra Festival (16–18 July 2010, Piatra Neamț) offered a display of courage and skill by skateboarding and downhill enthusiasts.
Held at two venues, on the purpose-built downhill course on Cozla Hill and in the skate park at Strandul Tineretului, the Tare ca Piatra Festival competition challenges participants to a new event this year: downhill. You can also view the Tare ca Piatra Festival programme.
The organisers put considerable effort into preparing the course on Cozla for this event.

The competitors performed on specially designed courses that allowed them to execute a variety of tricks, which were used to judge their performances and determine who would make it onto the podium. The spectacular tricks included a slide (a jump onto the ramp followed by a slide on the wooden part of the board before landing back on the wheels), a nose grind (descending an obstacle on the front wheels alone), a rock n’ roll (going up the ramp, turning and coming back down), a kick flip (spinning the board in the air), etc.
Tare ca Piatra 2010: film
This year, Tare ca Piatra Festival once again demonstrates young people's passion for these sports in Neamț and across Romania. Tare ca Piatra was a success, and we look forward to the 2011 edition! Until then, here are some photos and a film of the 2010 event!
