Dragobete Celebrations in Neamț County
On Thursday, 24 February 2011, Dragobete Celebrations in Neamț County will take place, organised jointly by the “Carmen Saeculare” Centre for Culture and Arts and “Calistrat Hogaș” National College. The event will feature two activities intended to preserve the tradition of this celebration in Neamț.
The first event, to which the visual arts classes at the Folk Arts School within the “Carmen Saeculare” Cultural Centre invite you, will begin on Thursday, 24 February, at 17.00 with the opening of a joint exhibition dedicated to Dragobete. The painting class, led by Lăcrămioara Gheghici and supported by painter Arcadie Răileanu, presents a solo exhibition of 25 works of graphic and decorative art by one of the school’s most talented pupils, Elida Rotaru, who is just 11 years old.
Alongside Elida Rotaru’s solo exhibition, decorative artworks by pupils from the classes taught by Ciprian Istrate and Lăcrămioara Gheghici will also be displayed.
The second event will begin on Friday, 25 February, at 15.00, at “Calistrat Hogaș” National College with the performance “Sărbătoarea dragostei în grai românesc”. The performance will feature the vocal group from “Calistrat Hogaș” College and the “Dumbrăvioara” vocal group from Dumbrava Roșie School, as well as the folk ensembles from the schools in Vânători and Mărgineni. The folk singing and folk dance classes at the Folk Arts School within the “Carmen Saeculare” Centre for Culture and Arts will perform under the guidance of Georgiana Axinte and Ioan and Claudiu Luchian, respectively.
The programme, which also marks the stage debut of the four groups, will include recitals by soloists Ana Dragu, Nicoleta Andrei, Paula Andrei and Miruna Negură.
The organisers, “Calistrat Hogaș” National College and the “Carmen Saeculare” Centre for Culture and Arts, invite you to join them for the performance celebrating Dragobete in Neamț County.
