In Neamt County there are two of the biggest monastic villages from Romania, where traditions and customs seemed to be frozen in time.

The Orthodox Church started the advent on November 14. This will last until December 24, the day before Christmas.

Vanatori Natural Park hosts on its territory numerous touristic attractions such as the old monasteries build in the forests of this park.

Wednesday August 15 2012 the Orthodox Church celebrates the Passing of St Mary Mother of Jesus. In this religious day in Neamt County there are two important monasteries that celebrate their patron: Varatec and Bistrita Monasteries.

Monday, August 6 2012 took place on Ceahlau Mountain the celebration of “Schimbarea la Fata” and “Stefan cel Mare si Sfant” Monastery from the top of the mountain.

La Mănăstirea Sihăstria lângă cimitir se află o biserică de lemn de o mare valoare artistică și arhitecturală impresionantă prin modul original în care meșterii au executat ornamentația bisericii.

Peștera Sfintei Teodora de la Sihla este în codrii sălbatici ai Neamțului din comuna Vânători și în apropierea mănăstirilor Neamț, Secu și Sihăstria.


Mănăstirea de la Războieni ctitorită de voievodul Ștefan cel Mare este o biserică mausoleu ridicată în amintirea sângeroasei bătălii de la Valea Albă din anul 1476.

Ceahlăul este un munte legendar, singurul din România și al doilea din lumea creștină, după Muntele Athos, care are o zi de hram “Schimbarea la Față”, pe data de 6 august.
