Summer
by George Coșbuc
“At the splendour of the sky,
I could see Ceahlău westward,
Far away in the horizon,
The giant’s forehead in the sun,
Standing guard to fatherland!
A cloud – a passing secret so to speak,
A neighbour to the mountain peak
Was floating in the pure blue sky
while having lost its wings to fly!
And all the skies did fill
With chirping songs.”
