Each year on February 24, we celebrate our own traditional holiday dedicated to love: Dragobete. The Orthodox Church celebrates in this day The Finding of St Joan’s Head, a religious holiday also known as “spring head” in our tradition.




On Thursday, 24 February 2011, Dragobete Celebrations in Neamț County will take place, organised jointly by the “Carmen Saeculare” Centre for Culture and Arts and “Calistrat Hogaș” National College.

On 24 February, we celebrate Lovers’ Day, or Dragobete, according to the traditional folk calendar. On this date, the Orthodox Church celebrates the Finding of the Head of Saint John the Baptist, a feast also popularly known as Cap de primăvară (Beginning of Spring).
