Founded by Voivode Stephen the Great, the church at Tazlău Monastery was painted both inside and out in 1496, the year its construction was completed.

Construction of the “Sfântul Ioan Botezătorul” church in Mărăței in Piatra Neamț began in 1866 when priest Iancu Lăzărescu launched the effort to build a new church in the Mărăței neighbourhood.

Coloured eggs are the symbol of Easter. Housewives in the Neamț area begin preparing them on Tuesday of Holy Week so they can finish them and take them to church for the Resurrection Service.
